One Halloween, a group of young adults turned an abandoned mall into a science fiction themed experience as a fundraiser for charity.
The event was so popular that the owner of the building allowed them to renovate and turn the space into a theme park for science fiction lovers. It was all fun and games until the first alien showed up.
I’ve been hard at work on the world of the Spaceport stories for a few years, and this year I decided to enter the World Anvil Worldbuilding Awards. This is sort of a debut for this world. It’s fun and playful and is a place where I let my silly side play.
The first round of voting goes from February 15 - March 1, 2025. Voting is easy! Just follow the link at the end of this post and click on the widget in the lower left corner to vote.
You can see all of the entries here for all of the categories. You can only vote for one article/world in each category. If you have time, explore these delightful spaces!
The Spaceport is entered in the Best World category as well as Best Worldbuilding Article, because I couldn’t resist sharing my chickens in space. There’s also an article in the Wondrous Nature category, so you can meet my shape-shifting cephalopod chefs. Because everyone knows that an octopus is sneaky!
If you haven’t had a chance to see the world I’ve been building over at World Anvil, I’d love it if you’d take a moment and pop over there! The first few chapters of the novel are available, and a mini-game for fun there as well.
Please vote and share this with your friends!
I’d love to hear your feedback in the comments.
